Working closely with our experienced instructor, Fiona McBeath, our Young Chefs will be guided through the production of some of their favourite seasonal foods.
Fiona has a wealth of experience in both teaching and cooking for the younger generation. The session will include informative tips and the basic knowledge your child needs to create and produce nutritional food in a fun environment.
Fiona will explain the vital importance of kitchen safety and etiquette, before the children get a chance to make a delicious meal. This 'Halloween' session is loads of fun and the spooktacular recipes include:
All ingredients will be provided and they'll take away lots of new skills and printed recipe sheets.
We'll provide an apron to work in but if you'd prefer them to have their very own, high-quality, embroidered YORK Cookery School apron, they are available to buy. Simply add one to your order and we can post it to you or just give it to them when they come to the class.
Our resident cake designer and creator of all things sweet, Kate Clarkson, will demonstrate and teach the techniques required to make several different flavours of macaron.
Learn how to handle a knife both correctly and safely in this short evening class. Techniques include the 'rock-chop', julienne (matchsticks), brunoise (fine dice) and chiffonade (ribbon cut).
Working with our expert chef, Dan Graham, and an array of fresh, seasonal ingredients, you'll learn how to prepare some of the best fish available.
