Come and join us on this workshop and master the basics of pastry-making. From a sweet shortcrust frangipane tart to a savoury rough puff pie topper, you'll learn how make each pastry from scratch and take away everything you make.
Thai, Malay and Indonesian cuisines have been influenced by Chinese, Indian and many other cultures throughout history, producing a distinct cuisine of their own.
You will learn about the background to the dishes you will be cooking and the cuisine and culture of Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. Then, under the guidance of our tutor you'll prepare a selection of dishes, including:
- Nasi Goreng (fried rice dish)
- Seafood and Coconut Laksa Lemak
- Malaysian Chicken Rempeh
At the end of the class, you'll be able to sit down and enjoy your dishes or take them home for your friends and family to enjoy (please bring some containers to put your food in).
All ingredients are provided as well as recipe sheets to take away at the end of the session.
We'll provide an apron to work in but if you'd prefer to have your very own, high-quality, embroidered YORK Cookery School apron, they are available to buy. Simply add one to your order and we can post it to you or just give it to you when you come to the class.
