If you're looking to 'build' your team at work, celebrate a special birthday, celebrate a reunion or get a groups of mates together for your stag or hen party then you've come to the best place to do just that!

Cookery is a great 'leveller', bringing everyone together with the single aim of creating some mouth-watering dishes or, perhaps, some fantastic breads. In some of our sessions, you'll all cook an amazing meal to be enjoyed when you finish and in others, everyone will make lots of food to take away at the end.

Typically three hours longs, our events and team-building get-togethers are designed to bring out the best in everyone whilst you all have loads of fun in the process. Plus, you get lots of food! Take a look at what we have to offer...

If you’re looking for something a little different for your team event or to entertain your clients then look no further; YORK Cookery School offers a wide selection of culinary events to suit your needs.

A team building event at YORK Cookery School is the perfect way to hone communication skills and practice the art of cooperation.

Cookery makes the ideal team building event as it places the team in such a different environment that established roles from the work environment become less relevant.

With each event tailored to specific needs, we can offer almost any variety of cuisine to suit your tastes.

Parties and social events (hen/stag/birthdays)

This type of event is also fantastic for bringing a bunch of friends or family together.

Celebrate your birthday by learning how to decorate cakes, bring your hens or stags together to cook a sumptuous Italian feast or a fiery Indian banquet. Whatever cuisine you like, learn how to source the best ingredients, prepare them and cook everything to perfection.

You bring the wine and beer and we'll provide the recipes and ingredients as well as an expert tutor to guide you through your dishes.

Choose from...

World Mezze (3 hours) - our most popular choice. Working in teams, you'll prepare several dishes from different parts of the world over a two hour period. It all culminates in a 'world' buffet that everyone shares and, hopefully, enjoys!
Yorkshire cuisine - (3 hours) - growing in popularity, this event brings the 'best of Yorkshire' ingredients together with some fantastic recipes culminating in a mouth-watering, three-course buffet.
Macarons (3 hours) - the ideal choice for those with a sweet tooth and wanting something a little more technical. After being teamed up, each team will create one flavour of macarons. At the end of the session, you all take away a selection of flavours.
South-East Asian cuisine (3 hours) - make your own spice pastes and learn about how to 'layer' flavours through preparing and cooking a selection of unique and tastebud-tantalising dishes from the far-east. All served, buffet-style, at the end of the session for you to enjoy with your team/friends.
Bread-baking (3 hours) - bake and create your own loaves from scratch. Learn how to create your own sourdough culture as well as a variety of different breads with lots of bread to take away at the end of the session.
Indian cuisine (3 hours) - popular with those who want to better understand spicing. Working in teams again, you'll create different dishes from one of Asia's most popular cuisines. The spices create the flavours and the chillis add the heat. How hot can you go?
We can also offer cookery classes tailored to you. If you prefer French cuisine or want to decorate cakes, we can deliver a session to remember and that you'll thoroughly enjoy.

We can inject some competition into the event or just cook for the sheer fun of it.
