Working with our expert chef, Dan Graham, and an array of fresh, seasonal ingredients, you'll learn how to prepare some of the best fish available.
If pastry is something you want to master, then this full-day workshop is perfect for you. Our experienced tutor, Kate Clarkson, will guide you through the creation of a selection of recipes using pastry you prepare during the class.
There are lots of different types of pastry and in this class you'll focus on three main types of pastry which can be adapted to a multitude of different recipes.
This is a completely 'hands-on' workshop, working with other members of the class, creating your recipes and sampling as you go. This class is suitable for people at all skill levels.
You'll learn the following pastry recipes:
- Shortcrust pastry (sweet and savoury)
- Rough puff pastry
- Choux pastry
Each pastry requires a different technique which you'll be shown and then asked to replicate. Once the pastry is prepared you'll be making ta selection of dishes using your pastry which may include:
- Tomato, thyme & parmesan palmiers
- Frangipane and apricot tart
- Leek, cheese & potato pie
- Chocolate profiteroles
All ingredients will be provided and you'll take away lots of new skills and printed recipe sheets along with the dishes you've prepared. You'll be able to sample the leek, cheese and potato pie that Kate makes for your lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
