CORONAVIRUS (Covid-19) - YORK Cookery School statement

Hello to all our wonderful customers & friends.

We hope you’re all keeping well, despite the current circumstances.

We wanted to give you an update regarding the measures we’re taking amidst the current Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.

We are taking it all one day at a time as no one can predict what is going to happen tomorrow, and, for the time being, we will be staying open.

We have very stringent hygiene procedures anyway, but we are taking even more precautions.

If coming to a class, on entering the cookery school, please wash your hands, and throughout the class session as normal and before you go home.

Remember we are a small business and we want to support one another, your continued support and custom are greatly appreciated.

Our full guidance is outlined below.

Take care of yourselves.

Kate, Fraser & the team at YORK Cookery School

Due to the uncertainty caused by the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the UK, we want to let you know about the measures we have in place to ensure your safety at YORK Cookery School.

We also want to assure you that the safety and wellbeing of our customers and staff is our top priority.

As the situation evolves, we are continuing to follow advice from the UK Government and the NHS.

Please keep checking for the latest advice by visiting the website https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response for the latest updates from the UK Government.

What YORK Cookery School is doing to protect our staff and our customers

As we are a food business, our cleaning protocols are extremely important to us and are of a very high and stringent standard already. However, we are not complacent and, to reassure our customers and staff, we’ve increased the frequency of cleaning before, during and following events at the Cookery School.

We are asking that all staff and customers keep us informed if they are starting to show symptoms or have recently returned from ANY affected country. If this is the case, we politely ask that you let us know and DO NOT attend your scheduled class. We will do our very best to accommodate your booking at a later date.

If you’re unsure about a country you have recently visited please visit https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice and type in the country you’ve been to to see its current status.

How to protect yourself and others

The most important thing you can do to protect yourself and others from Coronavirus is to follow the advice from the NHS. That is to:

• always wash your hands when you get home or into work

• use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available

• cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze

• put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards. Bins are available throughout the Cookery School.

• try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell

• avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean

If you are showing any Coronavirus symptoms, however mild, you should follow the latest NHS guidance and self-isolate. You should NOT come along to the Cookery School.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as the situation evolves, and reassure you that you can book classes with YORK Cookery School with confidence.

Together we can reduce the spread.

The YORK Cookery School team.
