With over 20 years’ experience of working with chocolate, Andrew Thwaite often claims he has the dream job!
Andrew trained as a chef, specialising in pastry and chocolate, and has utilised these skills in many different roles, from working in Europe and founding his own chocolate-making business, to involvement with the Derbyshire Chocolate Company and Barry Callebaut, the world leaders in the chocolate industry.
Everything about chocolate fascinates him, from the transformation from bean to bar right through to the creation of the big chocolate brands that become a global phenomenon.
From his previous role as Head Chocolatier at York's CHOCOLATE Story to his current role with the charity, Ampleforth Plus, Andrew now aims to inspire others and share his considerable skills.
Working at YORK Cookery School allows Andrew to share his passion for working with chocolate with all chocolate-loving devotees!
